On September 13, 2021, the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) of Vietnam formally issued a notice 06/2021/TT-BTTTT, which is a technical regulation QCVN 127:2021/BTTTT for 5G mobile communication network equipment.
The new technical regulations will take effect on March 1, 2022, but will be enforced from July 1, 2022. Based on the new regulation QCVN 127:2021/BTTTT, some notable points are as follows:
1. The 5G NR frequency bands allowed in Vietnam are n1, n3, n5, n8, n28, n40, n41, n77, n78 and n258;
2. All 5G mobile phones must support at least n1, n3, n28, n41, n77, and n78. Among them, n77 and n78 must be available and activated only when Vietnam is planning these frequency bands.
3. From July 1, 2022, all certificates obtained under QCVN 47:2015/BTTTT must be updated in accordance with the new technical regulation QCVN 127:2021/BTTTT to ensure the smooth progress of the import process.
