On January 14, 2021, Malaysia Regulatory - The Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) updated the testing requirements of VoLTE.
SIRIM announced that any device with VoLTE must be tested by an accredited laboratory under IR.92 or TS 34.229-1 or equivalent standards. After February 15, 2021, SIRIM will start accepting VoLTE test reports. Equipment approved during the implementation of the interim approval program must submit VoLTE test report before June 30, 2021 to continue the validity of certificate.
Below two points are worth highlighting:
1. VoLTE declarations are not required for applications that have submitted VoLTE test reports after February 15, 2021.
2. VoLTE test reports are mandatory for any new applications submitted after June 30, 2021.
