Vietnam MIC Issues Circular 08/2021/TT-BTTTT

On October 14, 2021, the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) of Vietnam has officially released Circular No. 08/2021/TT-BTTTT, stipulating the list of radio equipment exempt from radio frequency license, technical and operational conditions.
Highlights of Circular 08/2021/TT-BTTTT as follows:
1. Remove definition of “Wide band communication devices” and its corresponding Appendix;
2. RLAN equipment has been added to group of “Wireless Local Area Network” equipment;
3. LPWAN equipment and wireless power transfer devices have been added, with corresponding Appendix;
4. 2400MHz ~ 2483.5MHz and 5725MHz ~ 5850MHz ISM bands can be used for remote control devices;
5. 7238.4 ~ 9000MHz band has been allocated for UWB device.
Now the products which does not meet the Circular No. 08/2021/TT-BTTT can be imported first, then be adjusted to satisfy the requirements before applying for in-country test, type approval, or use. The new MIC Circular come into force from November 28, 2021 and replace Circular 46/2016/TT-BTTTT and Circular 18/2018/TT-BTTTT.
