ARPTC Publishes New Validity Period for Type Approval Certificate

ARPTC has recentlypublished new regulation on type approval in the country.

In fact, The approvalof terminal equipment or radio installation is now granted for varying durationwith equipment being classified into 6 categories

Equipment connected totelecommunications networks and radio transmitters (Validity: 5 years)

Landline and mobilephones. Low power equipment (Validity: 2 years)

All other equipmentdifferent from the first two categories containing a radio module (Validity: 2years)

Receivers, receptiondecoders (Validity: 2 years)

Antennas (Validity: 5years)

All other equipment notlisted in categories 1-5 (Validity: 2 years)

The renewal will bedone under the same conditions.

The new regulation alsoindicates marking requirements. The equipment must be labeled prior tomarketing by the applicant, with an irremovable label including the followinginformation:

Approval number anddate

Identification of themodel and batch or serial number

Manufacturer orsupplier identification
