FCC Released Two Updated KDB Documents

On August 7, 2025, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released two important updates to KDB guidance documents, which are critical for manufacturers, test labs, and TCBs:
i. 2174176 D01 Line Conducted FAQ v01r02 Replaces v01r01
This document supersedes 174176 D01 Line Conducted FAQ v01r01 and includes:
1. Editorial revisions for clarity and consistency;
2. Updated standard references, replacing ANSI C63.10-2013 with ANSI C63.10-2020;
3. New technical guidance for Part 18 ISM and non-ISM devices concerning antenna output termination testing with equivalent loads (See Q5);
4. Clearer definitions of acceptable U.S. low voltage distribution system test voltages and frequencies (See Q4).
ii. 951290 D01 Equipment Compliance Review v01r01 Replaces v01
This new revision updates the FCC's guidance on equipment compliance review with the following changes:
1. Editorial revisions for clarity and consistency;
2. Section 3.1 modified:
l The second category “Persistent Inquiry Acceptance (PIA)” is now called “6 GHz AFC Geolocation PIA”;
l Two new categories were added: “Numerical Simulation PIA” and “Phantom PIA”.
3. Removal of Section 3.4 (Data Referencing) as it's no longer applicable;
4. Emphasis on ECR submission: ECR information must be included in certification applications.
