India TEC Published MTCTE Notifications

The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) has published notifications regarding amendments in the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) from the end of March until 5th April. Please find summary as below:
1. Government R&D Institutes Exempted from Administrative and Test Report Evaluation Fees under MTCTE:
The Administrative Fee and Test Report Evaluation Fee are fully exempted for applications submitted by Indian Government R&D Institutes for certification of their products until 31.03.2028.
2. Non-applicability of Test Parameters for IP Multimedia Conferencing Equipment, LAN Switch & IoT Gateway ER:
Certain test parameters for IP Multimedia Conferencing Equipment, LAN Switch, and IoT Gateway ER are treated as “Not Applicable” with immediate effect (29th March) or till further notice. The specific ER and parameters are:
a. IP Multimedia Conferencing Equipment (ER No. - TEC3462xxxx): RTCP Parameters RFC 3551 Set-A, RTP Parameters RFC 3550 Set-A, SIP Parameters Set-A.
b. LAN Switch (ER No. - TEC3794xxxx): Ethernet PWE and Service Identification, MPLS TP Requirement, TDM PWE and Service Identification.
c. IoT Gateway (ER No. - TEC2449xxxx): GPS Compliance
3. Exemption for Session Border Controller Parameters under MTCTE:
Specific test parameters of the Essential Requirements (ER) of Session Border Controller product notified under MTCTE are exempted up to 30.06.2023 or till further notice. The parameters are: RTCP Parameters RFC 3551 Set-B, RTP Parameters RFC 3550 Set-C, SCTP Parameters Set-B, SIP Parameters Set-C, UDP Parameters.
