India Published Regulations For Upcoming 5G NR Networks
India published the result of Auction of Spectrum 2022 for “600, 700, 800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2300, 2500, 3300 MHz & 26 GHz” on August 1, 2022. To be prepared with upcoming 5G NR networks in India, recently Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) and Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) introduced new test standard and notification.
August 4, 2022 – TEC released new test standard of GR (GENERIC REQUIREMENTS) for “Bandpass filter for C-BAND satellite earth receivers in 3700-4200 MHz with 30 MHz GUARD BAND”; this standard has been framed keeping in view the frequency spectrum allocated for IMT-2020 (5G) in India in the 3300-3670 MHz band with a narrow guard band of 30 MHz from 3670-3700 MHz to avoid interference from 5G signals.
WPC released memorandum to simplify the procedure for Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) to import wireless equipment even without prior spectrum assignment, please note that the equipment could only be operated as per the license terms and conditions based on succeed auction.
