Uruguay URSEC Issued Resolution No. 275/021 and No. 297/021

The Unidad Reguladora de Servicios de Comunicaciones (URSEC) in Uruguay released resolution No. 275/021 to enable the radiocommunications equipment import directly through general import method (international postal parcels) that meets the following technical conditions without the prior intervention of URSEC.
a) That only work in the frequency bands from 2.4 GHz to 2.4835 GHz and/or 5.725 GHz to 5.850 GHz;
b) That operate with the family standards of the 802.11 standard (known as WiFi4, WiFi5, and WiFi6) and/or 802.15 (known as Bluetooth);
In addition, according to the resolution No.297/021, the above-mentioned equipment is only those that operate in the frequency bands identified at the national level in a condition of free use of the spectrum, with built-in antennas and with maximum RF power compatible with a service area restricted to less than 10 meters, that is, under potential conditions of not generating harmful interference.
