Oman TRA Opens Public Consultation on IoT Security

On December 20 2021, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in Oman issued a Public Consultation on “Internet of Things (IoT) Security Regulatory Framework” and “IoT Security Standard.”.
Acknowledging the increasing use of IoT technologies in key sectors as well as by consumers in the Sultanate of Oman, TRA created the IoT Security Regulatory framework. In line with this strategy, the TRA issued IoT Security Standard after deliberation of the local Information and Communications Technology (ICT) landscape as well as a thorough study of various national and international IoT security standards, cybersecurity frameworks, laws and regulatory requirements, and global best practices.
All parties concerned can submit comments and suggestions to TRA before January 15, 2022.
