UAE Publish Ultra-Wide Band and Short-Range Devices V4.0 Regulation

Further to the public consultation process in August and September of 2020, the UAE Regulator - Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) has published Ultra-Wide Band and Short-Range Devices (UWB & SRD) Regulation Version 4.0 on 21st December 2020. The new document has replaced previous Regulation Version 3.0 and it's effective immediately.
Some of the main changes are as follows:
1. Allows frequency band 5925-6425 MHz for Wireless Access System (WiFi 6E) for in-building use only at an EIRP of 250 mW
2. Allows frequency band 5855 MHz - 5925 MHz for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) at an EIRP of 2W
3. Updates transmit power of frequency band 1880 – 1900 MHz for DECT applications including Cordless Telephony
