Further Product Categories Have been Added to The BIS Compulsory Registration Scheme

Recently, the India Regulator - Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has announced that further product categories have been added the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS), which will also now require mandatory BIS Approval.
The additions are mainly low - Voltage switchgear and controlgear. The product list is as follows:
1. Circuit - Breakers
2. Switches, disconnectors, switch disconnectors and fuse - Combination units
3. Electromechanical contactors and motor -Starters
4. A.c semiconductor motor controllers and starters
5. A.c. semiconductor motor controllers and contactors for non - Motor loads
6. Electromechanical control circuit devices
7. Proximity switches
8. Electrical emergency stops devices with mechanical latching function
