India Acceptance of Soft-Copy Applications

On 30th April 2020, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) announced the submission of hard copy documents will no longer be required when applications are submitted. Instead, soft copy scanned documents are now accepted.

Please see the following requirements for different application types:

1. Online applications will be processed providing that scanned copies of the required documentation have been uploaded. A hard copy of the affidavit must be submitted within 30 days of Approval issuance.

2. Inclusion requests will be processed via an online request.

3. Change in AIR/factory management requests will be processed providing that scanned copies of the required documentation have been uploaded. A hard copy of the affidavit must be submitted within 30 days of Approval issuance.

4. Due to the continued lockdown in India, the deadline for submission of the hard copy of the affidavit has been extended by 30 days, following the end of lockdown in the country.

This was effective from 4th May 2020.
