Brazil Takes a New Look at Conformity Assessment and Homologation of Telecom Products

Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency issued Resolution #715 . This Resolution approves the regulations for conformity assessment and homologation of telecommunications products. It become valid within a 6 month period. Once the Regulation comes into effect, the following two resolutions will be withdrawn:

Resolution No. 242 of November 30, 2000 which approves the Regulation for Certification and Approval of Telecommunication Products

Resolution No. 323 of November 7, 2002 which approves the Standard for Certification of Telecommunications Products

After April 21, 2020, it will be possible to carry out conformity assessment using the following schemes:

Declaration of Conformity

Declaration of Conformity with testing

Type Approval Certification

Type Approval Certification including periodic product evaluation

Type Approval Certification including both periodic product evaluation and factory management system audit

The conformity assessment scheme is defined by ANATEL in the technical requirements and may vary depending on the product type.
