India Postpones Effective Date for Mandatory Certification of Telecom Equipment

On March 13, 2019, the Indian Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) issued Notification informing that certification under the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) will be effective as of August 1, 2019.

The MTCTE reminds that all the telecom equipment must undergo mandatory testing and certification prior to be sold and imported to India.

The start date for acceptance of formal applications on the MTCTE portal is to be announced. At the moment, the MTCTE portal can be used only for trial. The draft certificate issued in the trial mode has no value and is only for demo purposes.
