Italy Launched 5G Spectrum Auction in September
AGCOM, a Italy communications watchdog, announced that it will launch a 5G mobile spectrum auction in September this year. It is estimated that the 5G auction is expected to provide the government with 2 billion 500 million euro or $2 billion 900 million in capital flows.
Italy Telecom (TIM), in collaboration with NOKIA and Qualcomm Corp, pioneered the commercial 5G network in San Marino, making Europe a pioneer. In the auction, the Italy government will auction two 80MHz spectrum blocks and two 20MHz spectrum blocks in the 3600-3800MHz band. Relevant departments said that the 5G frequency will be 694-790MHz, 3600-3800MHz and 26.5-27.5GHz band.
