Asia Pacific Telecommunications Organization for Public Safety Spectrum Coordination
In Asia, 700MHz and 800MHz are the most common LTE bands used in public security, and APT-AWG uses them to meet the communication needs of public protection agencies and disaster response organizations. The decision was in line with ITU's resolution in 2015 to encourage management to use the harmonized frequency range for public safety as much as possible.
The day before, the Asia Pacific Telecommunity radio working group (APT-AWG) agreed on the coordination of 700MHz and 800MHz band for LTE network public protection and disaster relief (PPDR) related to the proposal.
Asian countries are leading the world in the issue of dedicated spectrum allocation for public safety LTE networks. Since the shipwreck in 2014, South Korea first paired 10MHz paired spectrum for public safety LTE networks. In addition, most ASEAN countries also use the 800MHz spectrum, such as Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. India, however, assigns 700MHz spectrum to the national disaster relief service for defense.
