Malaysia MTSFB Opened Public Consultation on Four Draft Technical Codes
On July 11, 2025, the Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) issued a draft Technical Code “Internet of Things – Functional Safety Requirements”, which establishes the requirements of functional safety for IoT systems. All interested parties are invited to submit their comments and suggestions to MTSFB by August 10, 2025.
On July 14, 2025, the MTSFB invited the public to submit feedback and comments on the following three draft Technical Codes (TCs).
1. IMT-Advanced (Fourth Generation) – User Equipment (Second Revision)
This Technical Code specifies the minimum requirements for the User Equipment (UE) that is designed or intended for use in connection with IMT-Advanced (Fourth Generation) public mobile telecommunications service in Malaysia. The 4G UE may include, but not limited to, cellular mobile terminals, handheld, portable and vehicle-mounted equipment, and Radio Frequency (RF) interface cards and modems.
2. IMT-Advanced (Fourth Generation) – Base Station
This technical code specifies the requirements for IMT-Advanced (Fourth Generation) Base Station (4G BS) that contain transmitting characteristics, receiving characteristics and performance requirements that are intended for use in IMT-Advanced mobile telecommunications systems in Malaysia.
3. Aeronautical Radiocommunications Equipment – Specifications (First Revision)
This Technical Code specifies the minimum requirements for Aeronautical Equipment designed for use in ground-to-air and air-to-ground aeronautical communications for civil aviation in Malaysia.
All interested parties are invited to submit their comments and suggestions to MTSFB by August 13, 2025.
