China CQC released New Rule on Battery Certification
On August 8, 2025, the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) released the Implementation Rule for Compulsory Product Certification – Power Banks, Lithium-ion Batteries, and Battery Packs (Trial Implementation) (CQC-C0902-2025).
Before the release of CQC-C0902-2025, compulsory certification for power banks, lithium-ion batteries, and battery packs was conducted under the Implementation Rule for Compulsory Product Certification – Electronic Products and Safety Accessories (CQC-C0901-2023).
Key Changes Effective August 15, 2025:
1. CQC-C0901-2023 will no longer apply to power banks, lithium-ion batteries, and battery packs.
2. Applicants must now comply with the new Implementation Rule for Compulsory Product Certification – Power Banks, Lithium-ion Batteries, and Battery Packs (Trial Implementation) (CQC-C0902-2025).
3. Existing CCC certificates issued under the old Rule will remain valid until their expiration date.
4. Certificate conversion will occur naturally during renewal, product changes, or standard updates—no immediate action is required.
