Malaysia MCMC Issues Updated SRD Technical Code MCMC MTSFB TC T007:2026
In May 2026, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) published Technical Code MCMC MTSFB TC T007:2026 - "Short Range Devices (SRD) Specifications (Third Revision)" and MCMC MTSFB TC T022 - " Communications Equipment – Baseline Requirements".
Compared with MCMC MTSFB TC T007:2020, the key changes introduced in the new regulations are summarized below:
1. Short Range Devices are now required to comply with the baseline requirements specified in MCMC MTSFB TC T022.
2. New frequency bands for cordless telephone applications have been introduced: 46.61 MHz - 46.97 MHz, 49.61 MHz - 49.97 MHz, and 2400 MHz - 2483.5 MHz.
3. The 3400 MHz - 3700 MHz frequency band has been removed from the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) section.
4. Power limits for indoor/outdoor use have been specified for the 5150 MHz – 5250 MHz and 5250 MHz - 5350 MHz frequency bands.
5. FCC Part 15 test reports are now accepted for certification of devices operating in the 5470 MHz - 5650 MHz frequency band.
6. Technical requirements have been introduced for devices operating in the 5925 MHz - 6425 MHz frequency band.
7. Technical requirements have been established for UWB road and rail devices operating within the 6000 MHz - 8500 MHz frequency band.
