India TEC Grants Exemption For End-of-Life Telecom Products

India's Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) issued a significant clarification on March 6, 2024, regarding the coverage of certain products under the Mandatory Testing & Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) regime. The clarification specifies that products declared End-of-Life (EOL) or End-of-Sale (EOS) for whole unit warranty replacement by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) before their respective MTCTE mandatory dates are exempt from MTCTE approval. However, OEMs are mandated to provide a comprehensive list of such products declared EOL/EOS for whole unit warranty replacement to the TEC.
