Mexico IFT Issues New IFT Marking Requirements

The Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) published the new guidelines to establish the use of new IFT Seal for products, equipment, devices, or apparatus intended for telecommunications or radio broadcasting which have been approved by IFT, titled “Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal on approved products, equipment, devices or devices intended for telecommunications or broadcasting”.
The main points are as follows:
 Cert holder as well as subsidiaries and importers must include the new IFT Seal in the marking or labeling of homologated devices of telecommunications or broadcasting.
 Besides the new marking requirement of IFT Seal, the existing requirement of the prefix "IFT" in capital letters and the Homologation Certificate number should be included as well.

The new marking requirement of IFT Seal will be enforced after the guidelines come into effect 180 days after its publication, which is Sep 9, 2024.
