Indonesia SDPPI Releases New Regulations For Antennas And LPWAN Equipment
The Directorate General of Resources and Devices for Posts and Informatics (SDPPI) in Indonesia recently released two new regulations: KOMINFO Decision No. 601 of 2023 and KOMINFO Decision No. 05 of 2024. These regulations focus on technical standards for antennas and non-cellular LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) equipment, respectively.
1. Antenna Standards (KOMINFO Decision No. 601 of 2023/ NOMOR 601 TAHUN 2023):
This regulation outlines technical standards for various antennas, including base station antennas, microwave link antennas, Radio Local Area Network (RLAN) antennas, and Broadband Wireless Access antennas. The specified technical standards or testing parameters include operating frequency, Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR), and antenna gain.
2. LPWAN Equipment Regulations (KOMINFO Decision No. 05 of 2024/NOMOR 05 TAHUN 2024):
This regulation mandates that non-cellular LPWAN equipment be permanently locked to specific radio frequency bands outlined in technical regulations. The regulation covers various aspects, including configurations, power supply, non-ionizing radiation, electrical safety, EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), and radio frequency requirements within specified bands (433.05 – 434.79 MHz, 920 – 923 MHz, and 2400 – 2483.5 MHz), filter requirements, and test methods.
