Brazil ANATEL Issues Two Official Letters About The New Act Of Safety And IPv6

The Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes (ANATEL) in Brazil published the Official Letter 463/2023 and 466/2023 to postpone the update of lab’s accreditation of the new Safety standard (Act 17087) and the new IPv6 standard (Act 7971) until Dec 14, 2024. Kindly see the main details below:
 Act No. 17087, of December 19, 2022 – (Be enforced from Dec 27, 2023)
Due to the similarity between the old and new Act of Safety, ANATEL allows laboratories that were authorized to test according to old Act 950 to perform testing in accordance with new Act 17087 for 1 year term until the lab update their formal qualification.
ANATEL also exempt to perform the visual inspections of the new item “Marking and Instruction”, that does not have in the act 950, for test reports issued until March 27th, 2024, but declared that the requirement still mandatory.
 Act No. 7971, of June 22, 2023- (Be enforced from Jan 8, 2024)
Due to the similarity between the old and new test standard of IPv6, ANATEL allows laboratories that were accredited for IPv6 testing to perform testing in accordance with new Act 7971 for 1 year term until the lab update their formal qualification.
