India TEC Publishes Important Updates On MTCTE

The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) recently published few important updates on Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment (MTCTE), please find overview as below.
1. Validity of MTCTE certificate
On July 1, 2022, TEC notified the decision of enhancing the valid time of MTCTE certificates from 5 years to 10 years with immediate effect.
2. New Essential Requirement
On July 1, 2022, the new Essential Requirements “TEC30042207” is published by TEC. The new ER for Hybrid Set Top Box for Broadcasting and IP based video. Such devices allow
users to view Television using digital cables or Direct to Home (DTH) as well as video from the Internet or local IP network. General Certification Scheme (GCS) is defined as Certification Scheme.
3. New Exemption to the product under MTCTE-reg
On June 23, 2022, PTP PMP Microwave Fixed Radio Systems product is under exemption of MTCTE-reg till December 22, 2022 or till further/earlier notice.
