Saudi Arabia CITC Issued Public Consultation on Spectrum Light Licensing

On 22 August, 2021, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) in Saudi Arabia issued a Public Consultation for Spectrum Light Licensing.
Lighting Licensing can improve spectrum utilization and make spectrum more widely available to potential spectrum users across different industries. CITC plans to adopt a light licensing regime using a database solution in the following bands over the next years:
1. All or parts of the 4000 – 4200 MHz band, in a manner that does not impact existing or new satellite users;
2. 10 – 10.5 GHz;
3. 28 GHz, in a manner that does not affect existing satellite use and allows new approaches such as NGSO and ESIM;
4. 71 – 76 / 81 – 86 GHz;
5. 5.925 – 7.125 GHz.
All parties concerned can submit comments and suggestions to CITC before 30 September, 2021.
