Malaysia SIRIM Issues New Requirement for Certificate Holders

On 16th July 2021, the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) issued a notice requiring that certificate holders complete a revised version of the Certification Agreement for Compliance Approval (Type Approval) (Issuance 2) for Communication, Multimedia and Hybrid Equipment.
The certificate holders must sign and complete the compliance declaration uploaded to e-ComM (SIRIM online portal) before 31st August 2021. With this declaration the certificate holders confirm to SIRIM’s terms and conditions for Type Approval and accept to use the online portal to submit Type Approval applications, receive certificates and upload labels via the self-labelling program.
Failure to do so before the deadline will result in limited access to eComM system and users will not be able to submit new applications or requests for renewals, Self-Labelling ID and Label applications after 31st August 2021.
