Egypt NTRA Approves VoLTE Service

On 15th July 2021, the Egypt Regulator - National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) announced that it has approved voice calls via 4G Technology (VoLTE).
VoLTE is considered a highly-efficient wireless technology providing high-quality audio calls for subscribers in terms of voice purity and clarity. VoLTE service has never before been applied in Egypt, and this change is a response to the several requests from operators to obtain NTRA approval for launching VoLTE service for their subscribers. NTRA approved to start launching this service after operators had met all the necessary technical and regulatory requirements.
Going forward, equipment using VoLTE technology is subject to approval by NTRA.
