Pakistan-PTA will Update Type Approval Regulations

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority is in the process of updating their type approval regulation recently, and plans to remove the following two device categories from the Type Approval exemption list:
1. Tablet PC with Wi-Fi only functionality (only based on Non-SIM device)
2. Smart watches with Bluetooth/Wi-Fi functionality only (without SIM or tracking)
At present, PTA has not issued relevant official documents. It is expected that after the new regulations are issued, the exemption list will include only the following device categories:
1.Networking Equipment (Switches, Firewalls, Servers, Storage Devices)
2.Laptops/Desktops/ Personal Computer (Non-SIM based only)
3.GPS only devices
