Malaysia Regulators Have Set Up 5G Temporary Approval
On 6th October 2020, Malaysia regulators MCMC and SIRIM announced details of a temporary approval for 5G. This temporary approval will continue until MCMC finalizes the 5G Technical Code.
The temporary approval is applicable to smart phones and other user equipment supporting 5G, the validity of which is 1 year.
The products submitted will be required to comply with the 3GPP Release 15 or later and must support one of the frequencies in the following table. In addition, they should also be able to use 5G NR on other IMT bands in the MCMC Spectrum Plan.
