Panama Market Access Guide for Electrical and Electronic Products

In Panama,A series of technical norms or regulations on energy efficiency for the equipment are to be issued by the General Directorate on Standards and Industrial Technology (DGNTI) in consultation with the National Energy Secretariat (SNE).

Energy Efficiency Approval applies to:Air Conditioners,Refrigerators,Freezer and Induction Motors.

From June 30, 2019, air conditioners of the Inverter, Split, Window, and Central types that don’t comply with the requirements, will be banned from import and commercialization in Panama. From December 30, 2019, products that do not comply with the requirements will be prohibited for sale to end-users in Panama.
