Korea Updates SAR and EMC Standards

Korea’s National Radio Research Agency (RRA) recently opened a public consultation on proposed revisions to the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) testing standards. Public feedback is accepted until August 25, 2025.

Key SAR updates:

·         Introduction of a unified standard (KS C 3350) to replace KS C 3370-1 and KS C 3370-2

·         Estimated effective date: April 1, 2026

Separately, on July 11, 2025, RRA announced updates to EMC testing standards, which will take effect on August 21, 2025.

Key updated EMC standards:

·         KS X 3124:2024

·         KS X 3128:2024

·         KS X 3125:2024

·         KS X 3126:2024

·         KS X 3130:2024
