TEC Grants Exemption for LAN Switch ERs Under MTCTE

On October 31, 2025, the Telecommunications Engineering Centre (TEC) of India has granted an exemption from submitting test reports for certain parameters of LAN switch Equipment Requirements (ERs) under the MTCTE. This exemption applies to Fibre Channel parameters in Fabric Interconnect Switches and SAN Switches.

Manufacturers are exempt from testing requirements for parameters such as Fibre Channel Frame Encapsulation and Fibre Channel Static Routing. Provided the equipment does not support them, manufacturers must declare non-support of these parameters on the MTCTE certification portal.

The exemption will be valid until April 30, 2026, or until further notice.
