Moldova to Adopt CE Mark in 2026

The Republic of Moldova recently issued “Law LP197/2025”, partially transposing EU requirements on accreditation and product commercialization. This new framework will be effective from February 28, 2026.

This new regulation confirms CE Mark Recognition in Moldova, products legally bearing the CE mark from an EU state are automatically recognized and do not require repeated conformity assessments in Moldova, however, the required CE Declaration of Conformity must be drawn up by the producer and translated into Romanian when the product is introduced or put on the Moldovan market.

Please note that since the regulation has not yet entered into legal force, Declaration of Conformity of Moldova (SM DoC) remains required before February 28, 2026. At the moment, there is no further official guidance regarding the requirements that will apply once the regulation becomes effective.
