Vietnam Plans to Completely Phase Out 2G by September 2026

Following up on the MRT-IA update dated September 30, 2024, Vietnam has officially entered the final phase of its national 2G (GSM) sunset.

The transition began on September 16, 2024, as Vietnam started phasing out legacy 2G mobile services. According to official announcements, the full shutdown of the 2G signal remains scheduled for completion by September 15, 2026.

As of January 2, 2026, the government has announced no further extensions or updates to this roadmap.
