TEC Extends MTCTE Exemptions and ILAC Report Acceptance to June 2026

On December 29, 2025, Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) of India issued three notifications extending several certification measures under the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) framework through June 30, 2026.

Key exemptions valid through June 30, 2026

1.     ILAC test reports: Test reports from internationally accredited laboratories (issued within the past two years) remain acceptable for 5G NR base stations, SIM cards, and VHF/UHF/E-band radio systems.

2.     PON broadband: Protocol testing remains exempt, and Self-Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) is accepted for Automatic Laser/Power Shut-Down (ALS/APSD) parameters.

3.     Generic exemptions: Test report requirements are waived for various technical parameters across the following product categories:

·         Mobile Radio Trunking System (MRTS)

·         Repeater for Cellular Network

·         Precision Timing Protocol Grand Master Equipment

·         VHF UHF Radio System Equipment

·         PTP PMP Microwave Fixed Radio Systems

·         ADSLx and VDSLx

·         Optical Fibre (Single Mode) and Optical Fibre Cable

·         HF Radio System

·         GSO VSAT / GSO User Terminal

·         NGSO Terminal / NGSO Integrated Gateway

·         Satellite Communication Equipment

·         Cellular Customer Premises Equipment

·         5G NR Parameters (FR1 and FR2)

·         SHDSL Parameters

·         NB-IoT Parameters
