KATS Proposes Major Revisions to Battery Charger Safety Standards

On December 23, 2025, the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) issued Public Notice No. 2025-370 to announce updates to electrical safety regulations. The major revisions focus on updating safety standards for compliance with international conventions on the safety management of electrical appliances, specifically aligning with WTO/TBT and IECEE agreements.

The amendment targets standard KC 60335-2-29, which governs the safety of household battery chargers. The public and relevant organizations are invited to submit feedback by February 3, 2026.
