India Opens RLAN 5925-6425 MHz
India has officially delicensed the 5925-6425 MHz band for low-power wireless systems, effective January 20, 2026. Operating on a shared, non-interference basis, all devices must employ a contention-based protocol to manage spectrum access.
Key Technical Requirements:
• Power Limits: Low Power Indoor (LPI) devices are capped at 30 dBm EIRP. and 11 dBm/MHz PSD. Very Low Power (VLP) Outdoor devices are limited to 14 dBm EIRP. and 1 dBm/MHz PSD.
• Bandwidth & Emissions: Devices support a maximum emission bandwidth of 320 MHz. Out-of-band emissions must not exceed -27 dBm/MHz EIRP., with specific suppression levels required at varying distances from the channel edge.
• Hardware: Equipment must feature in-built, integrated antennas and obtain type approval.
• Prohibitions: Usage is forbidden for drone control, on oil platforms, and in land vehicles or aircraft (unless flying above 10,000 feet)
