India's WPC Extends Transition Deadline for 6 GHz Equipment Certification
On March 6, 2026, the Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) Wing of India issued a notice regarding equipment capable of operating in the delicensed 5925-6425 MHz band. Manufacturers holding ETAs for models that are technically capable of 6 GHz operation, but currently certified only for 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, must complete a mandatory transition by April 5, 2026.
On April 2, 2026, the WPC announced a three-month extension to the deadline. The new mandatory date is July 6, 2026.
