India Issues New Series Guidelines for IS/IEC 62368-1:2023 Safety Standard
On May 20, 2026, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of India released updated guidelines for the formation of product series under the IS/IEC 62368-1:2023 safety standard. These guidelines define a product family as a group of products that share a common design, construction, and safety-critical parts that are essential for compliance with applicable safety requirements. All safety-critical parts must be of the same type across the series.
