Mexico Enforces NOM-001 for HS Code 8517.13.01
On May 29, 2026, the Mexican Ministry of Economy mandated that all products imported under HS Code 8517.13.01 must comply with the NOM-001-SCFI-2018 safety standard.
Under the new rules, products classified under this HS Code are required to demonstrate compliance with NOM-001-SCFI-2018 at the point of entry into Mexico.
Please note that although the official regulation was published on May 29, 2026, a subsequent extension has postponed mandatory enforcement until July 1, 2026.
