India TEC Extends Partial Testing Exemptions Under MTCTE

On July 1, 2026, India’s Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) extended several testing relaxations for telecom equipment through December 31, 2026.

Key updates include:

1.     ILAC Reports: Technical reports from non-border-sharing countries (less than two years old) will be accepted for 5G base stations, SIM cards, and VHF/UHF systems.

2.     Parameter Exemptions: Generic exemptions for various technical parameters will continue for Mobile Radio Trunking Systems, cellular repeaters, and DSL interfaces.

3.     PON Equipment: Protocol tests are exempted, and applicants may use a Self-Declaration of Conformity for laser and power shut-down parameters.
