ACMA Releases 1.9 GHz Band Rules for Rail and Wireless Broadband
On July 2, 2026, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) released its final implementation plan for the 1.9 GHz band, establishing new arrangements for Railway Mobile Radio (RMR) and short-range wireless broadband (SR WBB).
The new frameworks are designed to support the rollout of these services while ensuring they can coexist with existing 2 GHz mobile networks.
