EU Commission Publishes Decision on 6 GHz Band

On 30th June 2021, the EU Commission has published “Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1067 on the harmonized use of radio spectrum in the 5945-6425 MHz frequency band for the implementation of wireless access systems including radio local area networks (WAS/RLAN).” in the Official Journal.
According to the Decision, the 5945-6425 MHz frequency band is available for efficient use by wireless access systems and radio local area networks (WAS/RLANS). Two classifications are made: “Low Power Indoor (LPI)” devices for indoor use only and “Very Low Power (VLP)” devices considered as portable for indoor and outdoor use.
Member states should make the band available by 1 December 2021 on a non-exclusive, non-interference and non-protected basis.
