China MIIT/SRRC Issued Public Consultation on Draft Regulation of Vehicle Radar in 76~79 GHz Frequency Band

On 31st March, 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT) released the public consultation notification regarding Draft Regulation of 76~79GHz Vehicle Radar.
The main changes summarized as below:
1.76~79 GHz frequency band will be used for vehicle radar, which can be set up and use without a radio frequency license or a radio station license;
2.Vehicle radar equipment produced or imported for domestic sale and use shall comply with the "Vehicle Radar Technical Requirements", and an application for the type approval of radio transmission equipment shall be submitted to National Radio Administration Bureau.
3.The National Radio Administration Bureau will no longer accept and approve applications for type approval of radio transmission equipment for vehicle radars operating at the 24.25-26.65GHz frequency band since the date of issuance. Starting from January 1, 2024, the production or import of 24.25-26.65GHz frequency band vehicle radar equipment sold domestically will be stopped.
The public consultation will be closed on May 6th, 2021, all parties concerned can send advice to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China before that date.
