India MEITY Extends BIS Implementation for Phase V Products

On March 12th, 2021, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) of India has extended the date by which products in the Phase V category must obtain mandatory BIS approval.
Previously, the mandatory date was April 1st, 2021. Now the date has been extended to October 1st, 2021.
Products in Phase V include:
1. Wireless Microphones
2. Digital Cameras
3. Video Cameras
4. Webcam (Finished Products)
5. Smart Speakers (with and without Display)
6. Dimmers for LED products
7. Bluetooth Speakers
