New Certification Method Applicable for Wireless and ITE Products Proposed by Vietnam VNTA
On 30 May 2019 Vietnam VNTA has held a seminar to take opinions and comments from manufacturers and importers on new certification methods proposed by VNTA which may cause major changes in certification methods for products under MIC regulatory Type Approval certification and Declaration of Conformity scheme. VNTA has proposed 3 certification methods as below:
Certification method 1: Certification based on typical sample testing
Subject: Oversea and domestic manufacturer having ISO 9001 (or equivalent) certified factories
Certificate holder: Oversea and domestic manufacturer
Sample pick up method: Sample will be randomly picked up by Certification Authority or third party authorized by Certification Authority at manufacturing sites
Validity of Type Approval certificate (TAC): Valid for any importers authorized by manufacturer
Validity period of TAC: maximum 2 or 3 years and not exceed expiry date of ISO 9001 certificate
Certification method 2: Certification based on typical sample testing combined with factory inspection
Subject: Oversea and domestic manufacturer not having ISO 9001 certified factories
Certificate holder: Oversea and domestic manufacturer
Sample pick up method: Sample will be randomly picked up by Certification Authority or third party authorized by Certification Authority at manufacturing sites
Validity of TAC: Valid for any importers authorized by manufacturer
Validity period of TAC: maximum 2 or 3 years, annual factory inspection and annual fee are required to maintain validity of TAC
Certification method 3: Consignment approval
Subject: Oversea and domestic manufacturer not having ISO 9001 certified factories, not have enough conditions for factory inspection according to method 2
Certificate holder: Oversea and domestic manufacturer, individual importer
Sample pick up method: Sample will be randomly picked up by Certification Authority or third party authorized by Certification Authority from importing consignment or manufacturing lot
Validity of TAC: Valid for a single consignment imported by a single importer or a single manufacturing lot of a specific manufacturer / factory only
After finalizing contributed opinions and making final decision, VNTA shall prepare draft version of a new circular then submit to MIC for approval and official release to replace existing Circular 30/2011/TT-BTTTT (and Circular 15/2018/TT-BTTTT) of MIC Vietnam.
