Korea Announces Revision of EMC Standards

The National Radio Research Agency (RRA) of Korea announced proposed revisions to the EMC Standards to address safety concerns regarding malfunctions in Platform Screen Door (PSD) sensors caused by 5G NR broadband signals.

Key Revisions as below:

·  New resistance standards for "wideband radiation RF electromagnetic fields" added to the EMC Standards for Multimedia Equipment: Broadband radiated immunity tests in the range of 3.4GHz to 3.7GHz, with test levels of 20V/m, 28V/m, 38V/m, 56V/m, and 80V/m, based on the IEC 61000-4-41 standard.

·  Updates on the effective date and amendments to other regulations.

Interested parties can submit comments to the RRA by December 19, 2025.
