China MIIT Releases Updated RoHS Product Catalogue

On May 28, 2026, in accordance with the requirements of the “Administrative Measures for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products” (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Order No. 32 of 2016), China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the “Compliance Management Catalogue for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (2026 Edition)” (hereinafter referred to as the “Compliance Management Catalogue”) and the “Exemption List for Restricted Substance Applications in the Compliance Management Catalogue (2026 Edition)” (hereinafter referred to as the “Exemption List”).

Compared to the first batch of 12 product categories, the newly revised catalogue adds 23 additional electrical and electronic product categories.

Products included in the Compliance Management Catalogue must comply with the relevant standards for the restriction of hazardous substances within the timeframes specified. Furthermore, these products fall within the scope of the conformity assessment system. Products listed in the Exemption List may instead follow the corresponding requirements specified therein.
