China CNCA Issues New Announcement on CCC Certification for Power Bank Products
On May 31, 2026, the State Administration for Market Regulation of China (CNCA) issued the “Announcement on Adding Certification Standards for Power Banks and Other Products Subject to China Compulsory Certification and Releasing the New Version of the Implementation Rules” (hereinafter referred to as the “Announcement”), adjusting and improving the CCC certification implementation requirements.
I. Add GB 47372-2026 (issued on April 3, 2026) as the certification standard for CCC certification of power banks, lithium-ion batteries for power banks, and battery packs.
II. Revise and issue the Implementation Rules for China Compulsory Certification – Power Banks, Lithium-ion Batteries and Battery Packs (Trial) (CNCA-C09-02:2026, hereinafter referred to as the “New Implementation Rules”).
III. From the date of issuance of this Announcement to March 31, 2027, applicants may carry out CCC certification activities in accordance with either the Implementation Rules for China Compulsory Certification – Power Banks, Lithium-ion Batteries and Battery Packs (Trial) (CNCA-C09-02:2025, hereinafter referred to as the “Old Implementation Rules”) or the New Implementation Rules. From April 1, 2027, CCC certification activities shall be conducted in accordance with the New Implementation Rules.
IV. Power banks, lithium-ion batteries for power banks, and battery packs that have obtained CCC certification in accordance with the Old Implementation Rules shall, before April 1, 2027, complete the corresponding supplementary testing and inspection items as required by the New Implementation Rules, and complete certificate conversion in a timely manner. For lithium-ion batteries and battery packs used in portable electronic products, certificate conversion shall be completed through natural transition methods such as product modification and certificate renewal upon expiration.
