Malaysia: MCMC Releases Draft Technical Code on IoT Security, Safety, and Privacy Management for Public Consultation

On July 15, 2026, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), through the Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB), released the draft Technical Code MCMC MTSFB TC Gxxx:2026 – "Internet of Things (IoT) – Safety, Security and Privacy Management" for public consultation.

The new Technical Code will replace MCMC MTSFB TC G013:2018 (Internet of Things – Security Management) and is intended to be used and interpreted in conjunction with the following MCMC MTSFB IoT security technical code series:

1.    MCMC MTSFB TC G031 – Internet of Things (IoT) – Application Security Requirements

2.    MCMC MTSFB TC G045 – Internet of Things (IoT) – Device Security Requirements

3.    MCMC MTSFB TC G056 – Internet of Things (IoT) – Privacy Requirements

4.    MCMC MTSFB TC G058 – Internet of Things (IoT) – Functional Safety Requirements

All interested parties are invited to submit their comments and suggestions to MCMC by August 14, 2026.
